  1. Peronal privacy is a big part of my life but i know that my actions are monitored constantly by government and business. I am aware of all of this but i do not care that much simply because i am not doing anything wrong or harmful to others in my time. This article tell me nothing i did not alreasy know about monitoring people. Unfortunately as i write this i know theschool district is watching my internet activity so nothing is private unless you are exceptionally careful and that is not easy to do i try to keep my private affairs just that private and i make sure that all my call records are deleted after i pay the bill and i personally request all credit info except my card is deleted after each month this way my life stays private though the government may still have my info but have no reason to need it I have no criminal record or any reason to be suspected of anything. My life is private from everyone but the people monitoring it and the government but my private matters remain as such unless the people i am hiding things from i tell them so i have privacy from family friends and other people i know so i do not really care if th government watches me they will not interfere with my social life or work life so i do not care.

  2. After reading this article I believe that our privacy is very limited to the point where we may not even have it. I wouldn't be suprised if the FBI didn't put bugs in a t.v. we bought or something. It kind of sucks to know that somebody can track you because of your cell phone; but it is a good thing also because if you go missing and you had your phone on you they can track it and find where you were last or currently.

  3. Almost everybody had a cellphoneor some sort of technological devices with them. To think people are watching everyone sounds just like the government. Its creepy when you think about cause nothing is sacred to you anymore. You cant go to a go-go house (lol), without thinking about the government. Im sure they're thinking about who's a terrorist and who's gonna blow something up. I feel as though they should worry about actual threats instead of their own citizens. They're worst things going on in the world.

  4. I agree with the article that our locational privacy isn't private because I have a credit/debit card I used and they know what store I've been too and what I purchased. When I go to school they take attendance and when I'm at work they have the times I clocked in, clocked on break, and clocked out. Also you don't have home privacy for some people, like some people have inspections and other the cops can find a reason to look threw your house and your stuff. Also like how you are suppose to keep your social security number a private, its not. You job, school, any applications submitted has it.

  5. I dont think we have any privacy at all what so ever because i mean if your going to take the time to track me or anyone else on there cell phone thats out of control. You dont even have privacy in your home at times because your parents always want to be in your busniess or checking what you do not all familys but the majority. You dont even have privacy in relationships or friendship wise no matter how much you tell them not to tell anyone they always have to tell that one person and then that one person tells another and then what the whole world knows your busniess. So [PRIVACY] there is no such thing no matter how you look at it.

  6. While reading this article I realized that today, people in this world have limited or no privacy. The government would like us to think that we do, but overall we have none! It's sad to think that we are being watched from cameras on the street, to where our car location is, and even to our cell phones. It's scary to think that the government knows your each and every move even when you aren't even doing anything wrong. I understand that the government wants to keep our country safe, but the bottom line is we all have the right to our own privacy. It comes to a certain point!

  7. I don’t think that this is an invasion of my privacy in so many more ways this is helping as long as you’re not doing anything illegal you shouldn’t have a problem with this. Its not like they are coming to your house and arresting you for the stuff they seen or heard you doing on your phone or computer. Yeah they use them for cases in court and I think they should because people should be smart enough not to do illegal things over the computer and the phone. It’s not like they are just going in looking at your information and coming Example: I’m out walking and some man chooses to kidnap me. My phone is sending signals all the time it would make finding me so much easier. I think its safer that way giving people to much privacy in the world gives more opportunities for rapist and murders to do things that they shouldn’t.

  8. My privacy is not private because I'm almost always being watched. At school, on the bus, walking somewhere I'm always being monitored. With advancements in technology, at some point the government may find a way to implant a chip or put a barcode on us to track our every move. My personal privacy isn't so private because I know if I even try to leave the house, it won't be private because we have an alarm system that alerts whenever the doors are opened. I know it's for safety, but it seems like an invasion of privacy. My mom likes to invade my privacy because she somehow doesn't know how or like to knock on doors. I think that it can be okay to keep information on some activities, but sometimes it goes too far.

  9. our privacy is not private because of the things were use such as credit card and things keep u from keeping things private because the technology is getting to the point where they know your every move. i think that they are going to far with some of the things they use to detect who the user of certain things are. i think that alot more things should be kept private because it could get into the wrong hands and can be used against them in the wrong way all because someone wasn't faithful to there company. i don't think that it is a good ideal for other people to be reponsible for our privacy because someone can do anything to get back at you for something you did to them. you never know who knows who and what connections they have because alot of people you think could be trust worthy can turn on you at anytime.

  10. my privacy is not private because of technology. people think they have privacy but when you look at the big picture it's not privacy. wherever i go im probably recorded. but this is like a debate between privacy vs. security. people are only getting recorded because what if something happened and it was crime related... but when someone is home and in their room then that's their privacy. the only privacy people have is probably inside their house and that's it. and i think people have privacy in every restroom. my privacy is very important but i dont mind being recorded every step i take outside my house if it's for the safety of everyone and myself.

One thing that has to do with privacy is the USA PATRIOT act. The USA PATRIOT act is an acronym that stands for Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001. It was made in 2001 after 9-11 by one of my favorite presidents George W. Bush. Some claim that the act invades others privacy, but I feel that if you’re an innocent person you and have nothing hide you should be okay with the government looking at your “private” information. The USA PATRIOT act has also kept the United States safe from the terrorist in war time. I think that if you look at the stats the USA PATRIOT act has helped Americans more than it has hurt them.

Ahhhhh YEAH LETS PUT SOME NUT-MEG UP IN THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. This article makes me think about how I don't really have any privacy. Now everytime I use my phone, write a text message, or use the computer it's being logged somewhere God knows where. I understand if it may be needed for criminal reasons but in that case that's all it should be kept for. I guess sense they would never know if me or someone else would be involved in a crimal act where they might need that information they have to keep it on record just incase. There should be set restrictions though on who could access this information and when they could access it. This just makes me feel like there's no real privacy at all anywhere no matter what where always being watched.

  13. My privacy is not private because I usually do some dumb stuff with other people. Anyone of those people could "rat me out" and then my "privacy" isn't private anymore. Sometimes I leave confidential text messages in my sent box or in my inbox and anyone close enough could read them and know what I said or what was said. It's very frustrating. Sometimes I leave pictures of a private act, such as sneaking boys in the house, and at any point between me deleting it and it being taken the picture(s) can be seen. Sometimes people on MySpace put their business out there and they think it's private but they find people are talking about it the next day or even in the next second. No teenager's life can be private especially since parents can access just about anything. Go in their room when their not there, check grades, etc.

  14. Nothing is private anymore, everything you do somebody will know about it. Threre's nomore hidding anything people are to nosey no-a-days all they do is worry about what other people are doing. Then you have all this technology and all these hi-tech devices which can all be traced. So if you where on the run I would advice that you lose all sources of technology so the cops would have a little chance of finding you. Then with all these cameras on the street following "crime" is just another way for the man to follow us without us knowing or thinking that anything is goin on. Certain things are made for security but they are abused and misused which ultimately invadeds everyones privacy. So everyone needs to watch what they do because there will always be somebody that will know what your doing whether its someone you tell, a stalker, the government, or just somebody who will be remain unnamed. There is no such thing as privacy anymore.

  15. Well when it comes to my home, I have a fair amount of privacy. Like I have a room on the third floor so it’s kind of set to myself. But when it comes to things in the public space, it’s not so private. When you think someone isn’t looking, that’s when someone will pop up. Like if you are writing a story at strawberry square or something, some old lady could come over and want to sell you Avon products, I don’t know. Or if you want to go to the gym and work out. There is no privacy there so its like all the privacy you want to have is converted into public. Same with wanting to eat in a public place, if you are somewhat of a heavy eater, you may be sort of shy or bashful when it comes to public eating.

  16. I think that this is as private as we're going to get. No matter what we think or what we try to do, we will be monitored by the government constantly in ways that we don't know. Even if we rebel, they'll find some other way to monitor us. It's not like we're being hunted down by this non private life we live in. Whether we want to or not we just have to accept that whatever we do outside of our homes will have a high chance of being monitored or recorded by someone or something. Soon, we might not even be safe at home when they start putting things in our laptops and tvs. That is, if they aren't already in there. I know that people are probably outraged by this startling information, but theres nothing we can do about it.

  18. I am disgusted and shocked at this disgrace! You are safe nowhere because you are watched at every corner! This land cannot be called the "Land of Freedom" and the "Home of the Brave" because we are bound around our necks by telephone cords and cut down by Metro Cards!! The brave are shamed because it seems like they fought to be spied on! How dare we proclaim freedom and we are hypocrites when we bind our people! We attack tyranny when we give organizations and companies the power to spy on the people who keep them afloat. Do we pay taxes to keep these things going? Why do I live in a country where privacy which is a natural and humanistic right is not mine?

  19. I think it is very wrong to invade one's privacy. I knew that you could be tracked by a cellphone and by credit cards, but i had no idea that you might be video taped. In Jersey and New York, cameras are posted on almost every light and pictures are taken of the cars or people. I believe that technology is the main reason why our privacy is being invaded. These days applications for jobs require your entire life. I just think its wrong to invade somes privacy. Privacy to me is very important and knowing about this makes me feel disrespected. These days there are so many ways for someone to be tracted down. We really do not have any privacy.

  20. After reading this artical I belive that our privacy is lacking a lot. There is a trace on everybody by just their social sequrity number. Now everybody gets targeted by cameras. By what they buy. Where they go. Our privacy is very limitted. Only privacy we really have is what we do in our own houses at some time. I feel though that were always being watch by somebody.

  21. Privacy is a type of right giving to the citizens of America and should be respected. But it’s not because when it comes down to having privacy in the United States you don’t have privacy. I feel very upset that the government would go through all this trouble to take our trust away. As citizens we are giving the right to privacy, such as not having your car or house checked unless you’re willing to on certain occasions. But when it comes to using technology something that many of us loves against us, now that’s a real low. I or anybody else should not have to worry that when I am talking on the phone that someone else is listening to my every word which I wanted between me and that person. I should also not have to worry that the if I go somewhere to get away from anything, that the cameras watching down on me know where I am.

  22. After reading this article, my privacy isn't really private after thinking about it and the little things that I do, such as texting or using my bank card. Technology takes away the privacy in our lives and now that we're surrounded by it, our lives will never be really private. The simple things that we do are being tracked, such as using the internet, calling or texting people on our cell phones, using credit and bank cards, or we're simply being watched at places with cameras. Every momemt of the day, the things that we do are being recorded whether we know it or not. I never realized it that way until I really thought about it.

  23. personal privacy is very important but after reading this article i know that there are many restrictions on us and our privacy. nothing that we do in the privacy of our home or say on our phone should be recorded or viewed by any memeber of the government. there is not much privacy in my home, family wise, and im kind of ok with that but when comes to other people being in my business knowing things that they shouldnt or assuming things it bothers me.most people dont know that they are being monitored and thats when they are at there weakest, because people act differently when their out of the spot light then when they are alone.

  24. people's privacy isn't private because once a card is swiped they have all of your info. i didn't really think all of our information was that private anyway, because anyone can get access to anything if they tried hard enough. whether it be internet, card swiping, liscence plate numbers or anything. when you are a good hacker, then you can get into anything. however, i do think that some of these things are necessary because of terrorist, and people trying to disturb our country. in addition, the people that are handling these type of technologies need to be trusted and well trained, because information may not be that safe if taken in the wrong hands.

  25. Personal Privacy...yeah right. In the United States there is NO privacy for anybody. The government tracks every single move you make, from when you leave the house, when you call someone, and even when you purchase something. Individual privacy can be invaded also. You share information with someone and it is up to them to respect your values and keep your info private. As soon as you THINK you have just a little privacy...BOOM it’s gone because people are nosey and sneaky and love to be in other peoples business. You can't even order something to eat without someone watching your every move. Privacy...yeah right...LOL I wish!

PS: This wasn't my actual comment..I deleted it by accident.
