  1. I don't think that humans have control over there own fate because we choose what we want but i doesn't always go how we planned. I think that Nurture has a bigger influence on our lives because that's what determines our actions in the future because if you are bought up wrong then you will do wrong. An old dog can learn new tricks if you take the time to teach him. I think that i have changed since kindergarden because i don't do all the things that i did as a kid. You can make yourself sick by forceing the wrong things upon yourelf.

  2. I believe that humans do not have control over their own fate because if they did, they wouldn't die giving them eternal life. I think that nurture has a larger influence over our lives because nature is natural and most people's lives can be affected more by how their parents nurtured them compared to how sunny, cold, hot, snowy or rainy it is outside. An old dog can learn new tricks if you are willing to put the time and effort into it just as you did when you first bought the dog. Since kindergarten i would say that i have grown up but im still going to have that part in me that likes to have fun (alot). I wouldn't say that others are "stuck in their ways" but i would say that others can still hold grudges over small things as if they were still in kindergarten. You can physically make yourself sick if you purposely contract the cold from somebody who is sick or eat food that you know is old, but you want to get sick so you take one for the team.

  3. Humans don't have any control over their own fate. Fate will happen inevatibly and you can't choose it if it's going to happen anyway. Nurture has a larger influence over our lives because what you're born with (nature) has little effect on how you grow up. You're born with a voice but where you live, you grow up to learn the language of your environment. An old dog can learn new tricks depending on how they are taught. If people can learn new things dogs may be able to. I've changed because I've been more guarded about who I'm friends with. In kindergarten most kids are friends with everyone else. If people are still stuck in their old ways, they need to grow up and grow up fast. You can make yourself sick if you don't keep healthy. If you don't take care of yourself, who will?

  4. I do think humans have control over their fate due to free will either you can be an evil person who is stagnated and will go nowhere in life, or a good person who challenges themselves and advaces toward being a better person and bettering other people. It all depends on what the human's motives are. I do believe that it is how you were nurtured by your parents. What was instilled in you as a child is what you will thrive on, and if it was good upbringing then that environment will not conform you. You will only grab on to things that you embraced growing up. I also believe that an old dog can learn new tricks. I think it depends on the training of the old dog. I have changed since kindergarten alot actually and alot of my fellow classmates who were with me are stuck in there pre pubescent stage who lack the stability of a proper young adult. They have potential but lack the proper mindset to use it. Instead they look for naptime and cookies. I also do think you cna make yourself sick just my telling your body to feel sick because I have done it. I fake like I had a stomach ache and lie to my mom, and later on that day I was really sick. Even with headaches you can fake on and really get a full on brain explosion. I am just speaking out of experience Mr. V.

  5. i think humans can have control over their own fate. it depends on what the person does in one's life. the actions that the person does lead to the next thing and the next thing. which people call it "fate". i dont believe in fate that god controls or whatever. your actions lead to your future. the larger influence over our lives is nurture. without nurture we wouldnt be alive and whoever was or is nurturing us is the person we love the most. so of course it influences more than nature since we're destroying it anyways. an old dog that is still healthy and active can probably learn new tricks. if it's old and lazy then im pretty sure it wont even bother to do a new trick. i have became smarter and more mature since kindergaten. others that seem to be "stuck in their ways" are probalby still immature and lack of knowledge. my physical appearance has changed too of course. i became more independent and i dont depend on my parents anymore. i also have more responsiblity as i grew older. and others that seem to be "stuck in their ways" are probably opposite from me. of course i can make myself sick. if i want to be sick on purpose then i can go outside when it's snowing or raining with no jacket/coat or an umbrella. and if you mean sick as in getting AIDS or something then yes, there's a possibly that i can get it by choosing to have unprotected sex with a person that has AIDS.

  6. I don’t believe that people can control their own fate. I still believe that everything happens for a reason. This reminds me of a movie that I watched “Premonition” where this guy could see things before they happened and he saw his own death and everyday he woke up and relived the day over and tried to prevent it from happening but no matter what it happened. I think that nurture has a bigger effect over our lives because even nature needs to be nurtured to be cared for and taken care of. I think that you can teach an old dog new tricks it may be hard because they’re so use to doing things the way they know best but I do believe that it’s ‘possible. I never went to kindergarten but sense I can remember back in “The Pride of The Neighborhood” I’ve changed a lot because I became more mature. I’m able to talk about things and listen to things and handle it in a mature way some people just don’t ever seem to grow up. I’m a senior now and there are still some seniors that laugh and giggle if we have a conversation about sex and make immature remarks. Sometimes I just get on my own nerves and I have no clue how other people deal with me and yes I do believe you can make yourself sick. Not just like sick as in having a cold or something but for me I know sometimes I just talk so much and I just tell myself to shut up! It works SOMETIMES!!!

  7. Yes, i believe humans have control over their own fate. For those that believe in a higher power believe God controls your life. Yet you make the decisions to better or worsen your life in the future. It all depends on where you stand in religion or beliefs.

Nurture would be a better influence on our younger children. Nurture is their environment & how they develop & get their personalities. Nature would be expirience after a child is born.

It depends on how good a shape the dog is in. Some old dogs are only old in age. The only problem is their memory. I guess if the older a dog gets the more its mind shuts down, so it would be kind of hard to teach an old dog tricks. Like i said before it would probably depend on its shape.

I've dramatically changed since kindergarten. I was very bad in elementary. I would fight anybody that gave me the wrong look, i fought techers, swore, and other retarded crap. Of coarse i was going through a tough time at that moment so acting out was part of it. But things settled down and so did i & now im not bad.

Yes i can make my self sick. It's very easy to get yourself sick. i would just eat the wrong things (not rotten) but like to much candy or not eat at all. The smell of throw up makes me sick instantly. Drinking after a sick family member could probably get you sick.

  8. I think that humans have control over their fate, just the early decisions in life are what's going to make the difference in what becomes of the person.

I think that both have influences, but due to the growing equal opportunity world we live in nurture has become the bigger of the two influences.

Yes you can teach an old dog new tricks. Just because it is old doesn't mean it is learning impaired. It may be slower or lazier or something, but it definitely can learn new tricks.

I think that I see things more clearly and take more critical reviews on things that I look at or think about, but at the same time I've fallen off as far as how good I would do in school whereas I still can compare doug to some things I remember him for back when we were that young.

Yes you can make yourself sick. For example, if you deliberately hug someone with chicken pox and touch skin then you're going to get chicken pox too unless you already had it before.

  9. The humans that commit suicide but when you are put on this earth you do not control your fate no one actually knows where, when or why they will die unless they planned it them selves to kill themselves. I think nurture has a bigger influence on our lives because when you are younger and your mother nurtures you and cares for you it helps you as person that can go a long way. Yea you can teach an old dog new tricks it all has to do if the dog is willing to learn. It might take longer but as long as you’re still breathing you can learn something new human or animal. I have changed a lot since kindergarten in so many ways but I think I still have some qualities that are the same. I believe some things never change but I don’t believe that people can be so stuck in their ways that they don’t have changed since kindergarten. I can act like I’m sick I can’t make my self actually sick where I’m throwing up and have a fever and all that. Now that is a bit much.

  10. I think you can have control over your own fate by leading not folowing others. If you let others determine your life and were your going to go in life then you are not in control. If you fallow those who have nothing going for them they hold you back from your dreams and the fate of living a happy and care free life.

The think biggeset influence over our lives i would have to say is nurture. Our parents train use for the world and care for use when we are babies and cant walk or talk or feed ourselves. We have to feed and train our bodies and minds so that we can live through the rough times in life.

I think an old dog can learn new tricks it may take them a little longer than a younger dog but anything can learn someting new. The older dog may also even be a little wiser but an older dog can learn new tricks.

I think my attitude and machority has changed alot. In kindergarten i was bad and couldent careless about what kind of trouble i could get in. Now i've learned to stop and listin and understand other peoples point of views. I've also learned that i cant always be rite all the time i just have to sit back and let others be in control for a little bit.

You can make yourself very sick through stress and not talking to people keeping all your feelings bottled up in side can lead to very harmful things. You can also make yourself sick by not eating just because you think your fat and you think by starving yourself is going to make you skinny most definely dosent work at all.

  11. Humans do have control over their own fate, nothing nor can anybody decide your fate. Everyone’s future is in their own hands. The lifestyle you choose to live and the people you choose to hang out with will ultimately decide your fate because if you live a healthy and safe lifestyle you’ll live longer, but if your life is the antithesis of a healthy and safe lifestyle then fate will catch up to you and bite you in the butt. To me nurture and nature have equal influences on a persons life it just depends on which side you a drawn to. Sometimes both sides might influence a person in the same way so it would thus be an equal influence on the person. But if the two sides don’t preach the same thing then it’s the person’s choice to decide whether or not they want to follow their environment or the example being set at home. I really don’t care about dog I don’t even like dogs they get you dirty and leave fur everywhere. But if they aren’t dumb then yea they should be able to learn new tricks. This could also be used as metaphor. In that usage sometimes you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, because they might not have the same ability as they did when they were once young and agile. Since kindergarten I have made drastic changes in my life. Growing up in the public school system I would always be in trouble for numerous reasons, most of them being fighting and disrespect. Now I’ve kind of learned how to control my anger I still appear to have my short fuse but I’ve got a better control over it. As for other people they just can’t get out of that immature lifestyle they’re just stuck if the crowd and just think that immaturity is a good look but as long as I’m my own person and can make decisions for myself so that’s all that matters to me.

  12. 1. Do you believe humans have any control their own fate?
I honestly believe that God our lord gave us the power to choose our own destiny. If not then why let us choose things unless he knew what our choices were and that would make a level of sense he is all knowing. My choice though is to think I can choose my own path that is what I choose to believe in my reality. We make choices that affect all the time some we regret and some we love so we control our fate.

    2. Which has a larger influence on our lives “Nature” or “Nurture”/
That is easy for me to answer considering what it is to nurture. Nature has a large influence on our lives and nurturing is a part of nature. It is natural for a parent or more a mother to nurture their child because it is instinct rather than considered thought. So nature is more influential over nurture because to nurture is a part of nature. That is at least how I see things.

    3. Can an old dog learn new tricks?
That is a good question and has many sides to it. Medically speaking people and animals learn best while young and their brains are still developing inside their heads. As we age it takes us longer to learn as is the same for animals in nature. But they say we learn new things everyday and I personally have an old dog he is 8 but I trained him and he learned new tricks like roll over. My answer is yes for those reasons 8 is old for a Chihuahua and he is lazy so yeah it is possible to teach an old dog new tricks.

    4. How have you changed since kindergarten v. others who seem to be "stuck in their ways"?
Umm honestly I have little info on this one no one around me currently was in my kindergarten class so really I have changed a lot. I am more mature and much smarter and stronger but I am silly at times because I hate being boring and acting mature in my opinion is boring. I used to be selfish but now am selfless and I am not as negative as I used to be.

    5. Can you make yourself sick?
I believe you can make yourself sick. Sometimes if you believe you have a disease and truly believe you have it then your mind will make your body have symptoms of that disease. You can get sick from overworking or stress as well. Even being love sick as well. I do not know if that counts but I think that you can make yourself sick that way. Bad hygiene is a good way to make you sick and there are plenty of other ways to make one self sick. My answer in blunt terms is yes you can make yourself sick.

  13. I believe that humans do have control over their own fate. For example, someone might choose not to drink and drive which could save their life and someone else's. Or it could be that fate had told the person not and in that case then no, humans do not.

I think that nurture plays a very big part in a person's life. We are all born with the potential to do a good or bad thing but it is the parts we act on. Most children do not use profanity unless they see others do it. That "nurture" as influenced them to do somethings that they would not know to do on their on.

I'm not sure about this questions but I do know that it's harder for anyone older to grasp a new concept as quickly as someone younger. I believe with constent practice an old dog can learn new tricks.

I have changed since kindergarten but in small ways. I was always quiet in school, shy, so in that way I am a little the same. I did my work and had no trouble in school as far as discipline. I have changed in other ways though. I didn't hate school as much as I do now and it was easier to make friends then. Versus other people I think I have drastically matured whereas some of my peers have childlike impulses.

Yes, you can make yourself sick. Anyone with a negative attitude can expect negtives things to happen to them. For instance, someone saying "I bet I'm going to get sick" is almost bound to end up that way soon. Of course there are other factors that go into that but negative expectations have negative outcomes.

  14. Most of the time humans do not have control over their own fate. Fate is something that avoidably befalls a person, as humans we don't see our fate coming towards us. I believe that Nurture has a larger influence over our lives, because being nurtured is to be taken care of, and educated. Humans learn from others which therefore teach how to nurture others. Can an old dog learn new tricks? Yes I believe it is possible, anybody can learn anything as long as they put their mind to it. Changes; can be for the good and for the bad. Since Kindergarten I believe that I have changed for the good. I have become more mature, and realized that I'm not a little kid any more. People I used to go to school with have not changed, it's like their in an adults body but have the mind of a 5 year old. Can people make themselves sick? Yes it is possible to make your self sick from a numerous amount of things. Stress is something that can make you very very sick, especially if your body doesn't deal with stress well, or if you don't know how to control your emotional health.

  15. For the first question, i don't think that humans have control over their own fate. it's a little complicated because if they don't take cacre of themselves then their is a possibility they may not live long. however, i am a believer of God and i think that God takes you when you are ready. if you are not taking care of your body and arre close to death then that is happening for a reason. God has his reasons that we don't know of. so i think that it doesn't matter what you are doing to your body, because either way it's God's will and you will be going anyway. i think that nurture has a larger influence over our lives because we have to take care of ourselves and learn to grow. nature has something to with helping us grow but i think that nurturing plays most of the part. i think of it like this, nature helps us grow, but nurturing is growing. honestly i think that an old dog can learn new tricks. just because it is old doesn't mean it is dumb. it may not feel like learning new tricks, but they are totally capable of learning new ones. during kindergarten i was a young child, i thought like young child and i spoke like a young child. now, i am a young adult, i think like a young adult and i speak like a young adult. some people don't really mature or leave old ways behind. they sometimes hold on to things that make them look like kindergarteners. that is mentally and physically. i admit, i am not 100% mature in some situations, but i am letting myself grow, and i am working to mature so that i can be 100% in those situations i come to. you can't make yourself sick. if you get sick, it was nature and it was meant to happen. i am sick now, but i didn't make myself sick. i slept in front of the fan for a few nights, but that's not my fault because my grandmother turned it on. but other than that, you can take care of yourself so that you won't get sick, but if you are going to get sick it is going to happen, and there's no stopping it.

  16. I believe that all people have control over their own fates. The decisions and choices that you make can determine that. Sometimes, yea you can't control it but overall you determine your own fate by your decisions. I think that nurture has a larger influence on your life, because the way you were raised by your parents has a bigger impact than the regular day "nature" of things. What you were taught as a child will continue with you forever in your life. I think that an old dog can learn new tricks. Anybody can learn new things while your gettin older. Can't a dog? But then again it also depends on the body of the dog and if it can obtain the strength to go through with the trick. I feel that i have changed so much from kindergarten. I have matured and i have learned to learn from my mistakes and to get past them. Lots of other people that i grew up with are still stuck in their little kiddy stage. They need to learn to grow up. Whatever your mind thinks you can do. So if you tell yourself that you are sick, then you end up sick. It was on an episode of House even. If you think about being sick, it will happen to you.

  17. I think that humans do have control over their own fate because we choose what we want to do and how we do it. We make our own choices on our own lives. I think that nurture has a larger influence than nature in our lives because it depends on the way that we were raised and that affects our actions and decisions. I think that an old dog can learn new tricks, it may take a while, but it can possibly happen. I have changed since kindergarten because I became a lot more social and talkative and those others who seem to be stuck in their ways, well, they still act like they're five years old. I think you can make yourself sick, because it's all in your mind most of the time. If you think you're sick, you end up becoming sick.

  18. Yes we have control over our fate because fate without our works is just a missed opportunity. Nurture is a larger influence on our live because its care and every living thing need care and to be cherished, without nurture things that need to grow and develop wouldn’t. Yes an old dog can learn new tricks if he tries and practices. I’ve changed since kindergarten mentally, physically, spiritually, occupationally, environmentally and emotionally, I say this because I’ve learned new things and experienced more. Yes you can make yourself sick, by not being yourself and forcing things that aren’t in your nature into your life style, and you can physically make yourself sick by putting yourself in an unsafe environment.

  19. Humans play a fairly big role in having some control over their own fate. However, it depends on the choices he or she makes. For example, if humans do not take care of their health they have a greater possibility of having cardiac problems or other diseases. It is also true that sometimes you can be at the wrong place and the wrong time. Nobody knows when they are going to die. Regardless of health issues and other problems humans cannot control their fate all the time.

I think nurture has a larger influence over our lives then nature does. Think about a mother and a child. Nature is not going to take care of us when we are sick. Nature is not going to make us feel like we belong all the time. Nurture can have a great influence in out lives.

I think an old dog can do anything a young dog can do if it is in good shape. An old dog can learn new tricks although it may take a little bit longer to teach them because they did not learn it as a puppy. Everyone agrees on buying a dog when it is a puppy, that way they are able to train them to do whatever they want. However, training an older dog who is physically active can be just has easy as teaching new tricks to a young dog.

Wow since kindergarten I have definitely changed. In kindergarten I wanted to be a princess and I thought that I was cinderella or something like that. I was spoiled and I didn't care about anything but having fun. Anything I wanted I had to get someway or another. Now I have responsibilities to take care of and I realize now that I cannot have everything I want. Some people may still be in the mindset of not doing what they have to do and being unresponsible.

Anybody can become sick by not taking care of theirself. Its as simple as walking outside in a t-shirt when its 32 degrees outside. Or maybe more serious like not eating much or eating too much. Being depressed can cause someone to become sick. Stress can also make a person very sick. There are many ways to how we can make ourself sicks.

  20. I don't think humans have any control over their own fate. Humans can just make a path for their future but can't control their fate. I think nature has a larger influence over our live. Because that's with you your whole life. Nurture is with you for like you first couple of years from your mother. An old dog can't learn new tricks. An old dog has a old brain so it's harder to learn new things. Their just not capable. I change by being more mature and having more responsibility and respect. Other kids still lack to this day. They just never grew up. Their are many ways you can make your self sick. You can do it by drugs, being stress out, being miserable. You can make your self sick without getting a cold or flu or stuff like that.

  21. Ronald Silver
Do humans have any control over their own fate?
No. Everything that happens is god’s will. I think that god has a plan for all of us. That’s why I don’t understand why people pray for things. Everything that has happened and ever will happen is in god’s plain. So if god wanted you to have money or that new kidney he would have given it to you.

Which has a larger influence over our lives, "Nature" or "Nurture"?
I think that nature has a larger influence on our lives. There are people that I know who are nothing like their family or friends. They are born in a way that makes them different then anyone else on the Earth. That is why we are all individuals.

Can an old dog learn new tricks?
Yes. My aunt had the same dog for about 10 years now. He knows a few tricks like sitting and rolling over, but just the other day the dog showed us a new trick , Playing dead. Come to find out that the dog indeed was dead. So I guess that changes my answer to No.

How have you changed since kindergarten v. others who seem to be "stuck in their ways"?
I’ve gotten more mature in my thinking and more logical in my thinking. Some others that I still know from kindergarten are still immature and illogical in their thinking. Kindergarten was about twelve years ago and then I was at Melrose. Now I am at SciTech.

    Can you make yourself sick?
Yes. If you have sex with or share needles with a person that is HIV/Aids positive, now I don’t know why anyone would do this but that’s one way. Another way is to kiss someone with a cold. And the last way I can think to make you self sick is to think of “2 Girls, 1 Cup”.

  22. 1. I believe that humans do not have the chance to change their fate. I think that god created a story for everyone to fulfill their true purpose in life. Like he wrote a storybook for everyone born to be completed. I think that maybe when people die, they get reborn in some sort of way as another creature or human.
    2. Maybe nature has a stronger influence of human’s lives. Like in movies (don’t really know about in real life) but many people who are born near or by the wild have a more violent feral nature. The lord of the flies may be a strong juxtaposition to this. For example after being stranded on that island for weeks they became wilder and savage.
    3. I think that a dog can learn new tricks. Everyday people are learning so even a dog can learn a little something extra than what he did know yesterday. I don’t know about a new physical trick but he potential could gain more knowledge. Same with people, even an elderly person can learn something new everyday.
    4. Kindergarten was a very long while ago. I sure that I’ve gained more maturity that what I had back then. I’ve also gotten bigger and grew a much larger appetite. I’ve also grown independent and sure have gained a lot more knowledge. I know other people who seem they haven’t changed at all. They show more immaturity than many others do. Like play childish games or still think with our actually thinking.
    5. I do think you can make yourself sick physically but it’s easier to make yourself sick mentally. Examples of this would be to think about negative or bad things over and over and never see the light of anything. Like thinking about past family members, or breakups, or not getting into the college you looked forward to. Keeping your hope high and mind positive would be your only mental vaccine.

  23. • Humans do not have control over their own fate; I think a higher power has control over human’s fate. Humans can not control what happens to them but they do play a big part in what happens sometimes. For example if somebody is about to get hit by a car and a person saves them before the car comes. That person was supposed to get hit, but a person messed with their fate. Humans chose their own career, spouse, and how many kids they want to have, but a higher power already chose what that person is going to do and what’s going to happen to them.
    • Nurture has a larger influence over many lives than nature. A person who has grown up with love from their parents is better of then ones who didn’t and stay outside in the nature. When a person is loved throughout their childhood they know what love is and can love others. But a person who wasn’t loved throughout their childhood does not know what love is and is incapable of loving someone else.
    • An old dog can learn new tricks if they dog is a well trained dog. A stubborn dog can not learn new tricks since he is just stuck in his own way and won’t listen to nobody. But a well trained dog can learn a new trick if somebody is willing to teach him and be there for him.
    • I have change a lot since the kindergarten and some who are stuck in there own way have stayed the same or changed a little. People who are stuck in there own way mostly stayed the same because they see nothing really wrong with them. But the ones who did change, changed for the bad instead of for the good.
    • Many people can make their selves sick if they think about something they really hate all the time. Then that will be all that they think of and they will often feel very sick. Or if they think they are sick in the mind, they will become sick on the outside.

  24. I think that humans do not have control of there own fate but they do play a key role in it, for example, like if a person decides to do bad things in there life, there is a high percentage that their life is going to end badly. I think nurture has a larger influence in our lives because when people are brought up to do things it tend to stick for life even though its in our nature to do something else, for example, if a man was raised by a pack of wolves, would he follow the way of the wolf or the way of the man because he is truly a man. Most likely he would choose the way of the pack because of how he was nurtured and not by what is natural. I think the old dog can learn new tricks. I think no matter how old you are you still are capable of learning new things or new ways it just depends on their mind set whether they are willing to learn new things. I think I have changed since kindergarten because I now am more mature and independent than I was back then. I changed so that I can become a responsible adult and become something in life. I think you can make yourself sick physically and mentally. You can physically make yourself sick by taking drugs, smoking, drinking, ect. You can mentally make yourself sick by holding on to bad memories, dwelling in the past, especially if it's not a good one. This can cause depression, anxiety, and a lot of other psychological illnesses.
