The article imply that sexuality either homo and or straight (excuse the terms) but that these sexualities are not a choice but rather is forced upon the body due to cell nuclei. They back up this conclusion well with facts of actual human brains and evidence so I guess it may be true in some aspects but I believe homosexuals wish to think it is a choice. The title is a joke to get reader attention it does not accurately say what the article is about. This is not proof enough for me to believe that sexuality is driven by cells but by the mind itself and free choice. I have a question though what would cells be like in by sexual people.
If I could make the guidelines I would say that this is not actual proof and make them put that more study will be needed and not use the word gay at the top because it is an offensive and grammatically incorrect word I would make them say homosexual not gay that irks me.
1. The article implies that being homosexual or heterosexual isn't a choice. It is genetic and can not being controlled by choice. 2. Yes, I agree that the study proves that the matter of gay or straight is controlled by cells or DNA. If a cell suggests such traits then it is safe to assume that said person is gay or straight. 3. I think that the title summarizes the article but is vague because the article contrasts homosexual and heterosexual cells. 4. Yes, the study can prove that being gay or lesbian is not a choice because anything genetic is something you are born with. It is as controllable or predictable as eye color or hair texture. 5. What made the scientists study this in particular or was this something they discovered while studying something else? 6. I would recommend that the press release everything. Anyone who wants to know something about one subject or another will look around for anything on that topic just like someone who wants to stay ignorant of one topic or another.
I think that this article is trying to imply that being gay isn’t a choice but it’s genetic. The study of the brain between homosexual and heterosexual men suggested this conclusion. I do think that this conclusion is warranted by the study described because the cell sizes of homosexual men to women’s. I don’t think that the title is an accurate summary of the study described because the article doesn’t just talk about homosexual men but just homosexuals in general. I don’t think that being gay is a matter of choice in all situations but this study may help but I don’t believe it would apply to every case. I don’t really understand this article. I wouldn’t make guidelines for the press’s reporting of a research study because they just want to know. They’re curious like most people.
1. The conclusion implies that you are genetically gay and that it’s not a choice. The statement that suggests this conclusion is “being a gay or lesbian is not a matter of choice.” 2. The conclusion is warranted by the study described because it shows that brain cells of homosexual men are similar to those of women. 3. The title is an accurate summary of the study described because the study was about the distinctiveness of the cells of gay men. 4. Yes because they proved that being gay has something to do with your cells, not your choices. 5. Do they still conduct this study? How many people do they test? 6. I would recommend they use as much people as possible.
The article basically implies that being Homo is not a choice but is genetic, the statement shown from the article states that both men and women were found to have similar cells. Yes, the study holds up the conclusion of the article, because homo's have smaller brain cells than those of a straight man. Yes the title fits the article very well, because as stated in the article straight and homo's have different sized brain cells. No, because people choose to be gay I don't care what anybody says people choose to be homo. The only question I have is why are we talking about gay people? I would recommend that the press can only write about girls, sports, and me.
1.) This article implies that homosexual men have cells almost the same size as women. And also that brain cells of heterosexual men that have died from aids have nuclei that were more than twice as large as those in homosexual men.
2.) This conclusion is not warranted because people have different opinions on this topic and some might take it offensive and some might not.
3.) This title is pretty much an accurate summary of the stude described because it explains how the cells of homosexual men are different from those of heterosexual men.
4.) This can't really prove that being gay or lesbian isn't a matter of choice, but it can add some background on why most people become gay or lesbian.
5.) No questions.
6.) I would recommend more details about the studies.
This article concludes that AIDS is not the cause of enlarged brain cells. The statement that prove's this is when they say that "The difference was apparently not caused by aids victims, becuase it was canstant in a comparisoon of cells from heterosexual and homosexual male aids victims." THe conclusion is warrented by the study because of the statistics. The title is not an accurate study it could be summarized better. I think that this study can be used to determine weather a gay or lebian is a matter of choice. I don't have any questions because i'm not interested in this topic. I would recommend accurate iformation and they would have to get everything checked out before putting it out.
This article implies that being homosexual is in fact biological and not a choice. Because it is biological, it means that they aren't just waking up and saying "I'll be gay." It's genetic.
Yes because it's showing that there is a difference in their cells.
The title is accurate because that's basically what the article is saying.
I think it might, but at the same time if they could find more it would help.
I just wonder is this going to make people want to "cure" all gays now that they think that it's genetic.
Tell them what we discovered, but make sure all the possible errors are in there too so just in case we're wrong that the people can look back and say "oh well that's probably what went wrong" instead of getting upset
1. In the conclusion this article implies that being homosexual is not by choice but by your gene traits. In the article it say when they did a study of the brain from 41 people, 25 died from aid, but certain brain cells from heterosexual had a nuclei twice as large than homosexual.
2. The conclusion is warranted by the study because it shows that heterosexual men and homosexual men almost have different nuclei.
3. Yes the title do basically have an accurate summary of the study because it explains it right.
4. Yes this study can prove that being gay or lesbian is not a choice because of the brain study test they did.
5. Where there ever be a way when they can look at your brain and decide if your gay or lesbian.
6. I would just come out and say that being gay or lesbian is not a matter of choice. So your stuck with what you get like your looks.
1.) This article is saying that Homosexual people’s brains work differently than Heterosexual people. 2.) Yes. The study shows that Homosexual people’s brains make them gay, just like a Heterosexual people’s brains makes them straight. 3.) Yes. The title is “Gay Men Show Cell Distinction” I think that the title perfectly describes the study. 4.) Yes. I think this is scientific proof that being gay is not a choice. In the article it said that the gay brains studied had shorter nuclei than straight brains. 5.) Why did they use so many Aids infected people? 6.) I would recommend that the article be written like this with no opinions and completely subjective.
1. This article implies that you don't have a choice to be gay or lesiban; it's a gene trait. Researcher Simon LeVay says that in a study of the brain cells from 41 people to 25 of whom died from AIDS, certain brain cells of heterosexual men had nuclei that were more than twice as large as those in homosexual men.
2.The conclusin is not warranted by the study described because you can't change someone eleses sexuality, you change who humans are attracted to.
3. The title of this article is accurate because it's getting straight to the point of what is being discussed.
4. I don't thnk it can because no one can determine who someone elese will be attracted to. People have their own taste of what they like and who they want to be with.
1.) The article implys that brain cells in people is what makes them homosexual. In the article they state that "Being Gay or Lesbian is not a choice." They also state that "Gay people could be made straight by tweaking a chromosome."
2.) This conclusion is not warranted b/c there are many people in the world, we all have options. Even though they found brain cells in men the same size as woman, we have a choice.
3.) The title is some what accurate b/c it explains the disfunction of homosexuals brain cells. But they also explain cell distinction in woman.
4.) If they go deeper into the study then i believe yes. But i think its a choice for most.
5.) If their studies do show that cells effect the mind and being homosexual is not a choice could this have an effect on straight people.
• The conclusions that the article apply is that being a homosexual is not a choice but it is genetic. This statement suggest that my conclusion is true when Robert Bray said “If used ethically, (it) can shed light on human sexuality and prove what we’ve always believed – being a gay or lesbian is not a matter of choice.” So he is basically saying what I said that there is not choice for gays or lesbians it’s genetic. • A conclusion is warranted by the study described in the article because homosexual male’s cells look more like female cells. • The title for this article is very accurate because in the article it talks about how homosexual male cells are relatively the same size of females. They also talk about the size of homosexual male’s cell size compared to heterosexual males. • Yes, this study can prove that being a gay or lesbian is not a matter of choice by them comparing the cells of homosexual’s male and heterosexual females. • Is the conclusion in this study a provable fact? • I would not make guild lines for the press because this article could be quite confusing. I would recommend this article to the press if they tweak some information to make it more not confusing.
1)The conclusion that the article implies is that men and women don't choose to be homosexuals because it is genetic. When they compared certain brain cells of heterosexuals to homosexuals they noticed that the heterosexuals had nuclei that were more than twice as large than those in homosexuals;which gave them the conclusion that being gay is not a choice.
2)I don't think that the conclusion is warranted by the study described because it doesn't make sense. So what if a heterosexual just happens to have a larger nuclei than a homosexual;. What about the sizes of nuclei of people who like their same gender and the opposite sex?
3)I believe that this summary could have included some more information about the study.
4)I dont think that the study can prove that being gay or lesbian is not a matter of choice because it doesn't test everybody. For example, it doesn't say tht they tested people who like both genders or people that started off straight but then chose to become homosexual.
5)Why did they test homosexuals who died from AIDS instead of healthy homosexuals?
6)I would recommend that they have a more diverse experiment and not just between hetersexuals and homosexuals that died from AIDS.
1.I think that the artical is saying that homosexuality is genetic that they dont just think their that way its in their genes. The artical makes me suggest this conclusion because certain brain cells from the heterosexual man had nuclei that were more than twice as large as those in homosexual men.
2.No, because straight men could hav smaller nuclie and that dosent mean that there gay and some gay people do like both men and women
3.Yes,because they tested them and saw the differences
4.No not really becuse there are gay and lesbians that go both ways and like both men and women so it is a matter of choice.
5.Why are people always worried about gay people there people just like all the rest of us just because there fond in men or women it dosent make them different why cant we just leave them alone?
6.I would recommend for them to have more examples then just that
1.) The article is implying that being a gay or lesbian human being is not a matter of choice. People are just they way they are ... because thats who they are.
2.) In some ways the conclusion is warranted by the study proving that heterosexual men and homosexual men have different size brain cells and that homosexual men have the same size as women .... but at the same time you can't define who a person is just by the way their brain cells look like.
3.) I think that the title is an accurate title because it's telling you directly what the article is about but at the same time it's keeping it limited but interesting.
4.) I think when you look at the fact that some of the homosexuals men's cells were similar in size to womens shows something. And the study also says something when both heterosexual men have bigger (twice the size) of brain cells then homosexual men do. So in some ways, it proves that homosexual men are just being themselves. They were born that way, without a choice.
5.) I don't think that this article neccesarily proves everything there is about homosexuals and heterosexuals but at the same time it keeps you thinking and it kind of gives you a better understanding.
6.) I would recommend that after following reading this study that all human beings dont judge people
1. It mainly states that sexual orientation isn’t by choice. The article says that being gay or straight is not matter of choice. 2. I think it is because in the article it says that brain cells from 41 people had nuclei twice as large as those in homosexual men. 3. I don’t think it is, they could have added more accurate studies or percentages. 4. Well I think it could but at the same time couldn’t. Like if they had a part where they had more percentages or studies they could. But they did a good job with using studies of brain cells and so on. 5. If being gay or straight isn’t optional, how come some people turn gay or straight or even be bi? 6. Well instead of this they could have attempted to find a way to cure chronic diseases
Overall I think this article implies that it is not a choice to be gay but being gay can be a cell disorder. The statements in the article suggest that homosexual males should enlarge the nucleu to what a normal guy would have. The article stated that homosexual guys have a nucleu the size of a women. This was the main factor that caused these men to be attracted to other men. However, I believe this study needs to be researched further. Can this study cure all gay people?
Yes the title is an accurate summary of this study because the article talks about how homosexual males have smaller cells than heterosexual males. In a way this does prove that being gay is not a matter of choice. I heard of this study before in biology and it made a lot of sense. However, some people do choose to be gay because of past issues.
I am still unsure if this study is accurate. Have they tested this study on homosexual males or females? Are they 100% sure this is the main cause of homosexuality? What evidence do have to prove their study further? If I had the power to create guidelines for the press's reporting of a research study I would investigate this study more. I would provide the press with evidence, proof, and a better understanding of this study.
1. The conclusion that the article implies is that gay people can be made straight by changing a chromosome. In other words, they were born like that and people are trying to change then from the way they were born. 2. Yes, because it gives proof of the brain cells in heterosexual men and homosexual men. 3. Yes, because that’s what the focus is of the article. 4. When it is all said and done it is not a choice because it says clearly that it is something with the chromosomes. When you are born you are born with the chromosomes and cells that you are going to have so basically it is not a choice. 5. Can cells be altered to change sexuality? 6. I wouldn’t recommend anything.
this artcle implies being gay or statight is not by choice but its something that has to do with their cells. it says that men who were gay or have died form aids have the same size as a woman.
yes it is warranted they used facts that they have researched and studied.
i think the title is accurate it saying that men that are gay have the same size cells as a women.
if it is used ethically then yes it could be proven.
questions::
How many people have been tested?
i would say that they make sure that everything they are sayin is facts. make sure they have stone cold proof
1. the conclusion that the article implies is that most homosexual males have have AIDS. they also have similar cells as females. so they're saying gays and lesbians didnt really have a choice to be gay, it was just their cells so it's curable or repairable by just "tweaking a chromosome here or readjusting a cell there."
2. I'm not so sure if the conclusion is warrented by the study described. you can't just fix a person's feelings by just "tweaking" some chromosomes and cells here and there. maybe it's possible but i don't think so.
3. the title doesnt seem to be an accurate summary of the study described. in the beginning it was talking about aids, gays, and lesbians. the beginning of the article didn't quite related to the title.
4. it's possble that being gay or lesbian isnt a matter of choice since homosexual males have similar cells as females but form what ive seen it looks like a choice. some people dont start out liking the same sex. they eventually make a decision or something. so it looks like it's a choice.
5. a questoin i have is "can you really fix homosexuals by "fixing" their chromosomes and cells?"
6. if i had the power to create guidelines for the press' reporting of a research study i would recommend them to publish it only if it's true and if it's proven. they need to show specific evidence and all that before they publish it.
1. What conclusion does this article imply? what statements in the article suggest this conclusion? This article concludes that gay men shows cells distinction. Statements in the article that suggest this conclusion are the study of the brain and the difference human sexuality.
2. Is this conclusion warranted by study described? Why or why not? No this article is not warranted because it does not justify its reasoning or give anyone the right to judge gay men.
3. Is the title an accurate summary of the study described? Why or why not? No the title is not an accurate summary of the study described because the notion that gay people could be made straight by tweaking a chromosome here or readjusting a cell there is unethical.
4. Can this study “prove? Being gay or lesbian is not a matter of choice,” as the task force spokesman suggests? Why or why not? No this study can not prove that being homosexual is not a choice. There are not enough statistics and the study of a few brains can not determine everyone else’s’ 5. What questions do you have after reading this article? What made them conduct this study?? 6. If you had the power to create guidelines for the press’s report of a research study, what would you recommend? I would recommend it be the study of men.
1) Basically what this is sayin is that being homosexual or heterosexual is in the cells in brain. Stating that a homosexual has cells similar to a woman's while a heterosexual's is much larger. 2) I do not think so I think that this determination is something that happens outside the body, its not internal nor genetic. You cannot just treat it. 3) I cannot agree nor disagree with the title because though it was researched there is some more research that must be done, it seems unfinished. I would call it testing or observation. 4) Well in this study is states that you have not a choice because of cellular composition and description. But then again I still do not agree. 5) A question I have is how in the world did you come up with this? So can't a homosexual become a heterosexual? Or even vice versa? 6) Do different tests. Alot of them!
1. Conclusion that this article is applying is that homosexuality might not be a given choice. It states this in the article by saying "being gay or lesbian is not a choice." 2. The conclusion is warranted by the study described because it talks about the difference in cell sizes can make you homosexual. 3. Well it has its data, so I would say it’s accurate. 4. I think this cannot prove that being homosexual is not of choice it just assumes that it’s the outcome of having smaller cells than non homosexual men. 5. One question I do have is that if homosexual is not a choice, but an outcome of having a small cell, then is being bisexual a choice or not? 6. I probably would recommend that they have solid data and probably to extend there research.

ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDeleteYes the title is an accurate summary of this study because the article talks about how homosexual males have smaller cells than heterosexual males.
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDeleteyes it is warranted they used facts that they have researched and studied.
i think the title is accurate it saying that men that are gay have the same size cells as a women.
if it is used ethically then yes it could be proven.
questions::
ReplyDelete2.
ReplyDeleteThis article concludes that gay men shows cells distinction.
There are not enough statistics and the study of a few brains can not determine everyone else’s’
ReplyDelete2) I do not think so I think that this determination is something that happens outside the body, its not internal nor genetic.
It states this in the article by saying "being gay or lesbian is not a choice."
ReplyDelete2.
